Travis began his architectural education at Arizona State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Design in 1990. While in Scottsdale, Arizona, Travis worked with Vernon Swaback Associates. In 1994, Travis completed his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas in Austin where he was honored with the American Institute of Architects’ Medal for Professional Promise by being the highest ranked graduate student. Travis also received a Teaching Assistant of the Year award.

Travis founded Studio Momentum Architects, PC in 1999. His work has been featured on the American Institute of Architects Homes Tour, The Austin Modern Home Tour, and the Austin Energy Cool House Tour multiple times. He has been a member of the local chapter’s Residential Advocacy Committee, serving as the Chair in 2020. In recent years Travis has provided construction services, acting as the general contractor for several of his projects and has gained great insight into construction methods and costs.

Travis enjoys bicycling, fishing, and teaching Taekwon-Do at the University of Texas Taekwon-Do Club ITF where he has been the instructor since 1996.
